Description :
  • Development of the boroughs’ flood risk strategies
  • Preparation of programmes and supporting the preparation of funding bids
  • Liaising with stakeholders, in particular, the Environment Agency and Thames Water and community engagement
  • Outline design or detailed design and delivery of projects to the correct standards
  • Management and monitoring of financial and other records
  • Responsible and accountable for delivering outcomes, taking ownership and responsibility, as a ‘distributed Leader’, of all tasks and projects assigned to you, escalating risks in accordance with governance arrangements
  • Model our STAR values and behaviours in line with our Behavioural Framework with hybrid working, and demonstrate zero tolerance of discrimination and harassment and challenges inappropriate behaviour or actions.
Requirements :
  • Relevant technical qualification, e.g., HND/HNC/Degree or significant equivalent experience. Works collaboratively with others, 
  • Demonstrate leading by example in accordance with STAR Values and Behaviours Supports a learning environment where innovation and creativity are celebrated and risks are managed with a ‘Can do’ attitude 
  • Is competent with IT and Digital processes, seeking to drive digitisation Some roles will require experience of specific software eg AutoCAD, Mayrise, etc 
  • Has political awareness and has the ability to work collaboratively with elected members and has experience of attending committee and public meetings and advising customers and elected Members on Highways and Transport matters 
  • Is accountable and responsible for resources to undertake their role and is a champion for Change and Improvements and supports others on the journey 
  • Ability to analyse data and intelligence to drive improvements and collaborate with partners and communities, horizon scanning for best practice 
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues and understands corporate vision, plan and activities which may impact them 
  • Is able to develop a commercial mindset to service and implement projects in accordance with Project management principles and framework 
  • Highly organised, juggling priorities, often under pressure.
